general information
(a) about Hugh Anton-Stephens
"I qualified as a Solicitor in 1979 and as a Notary in 1983. I practised as a Solicitor until 2002 and continue to practise as a Notary, which also allows me to offer all of the services of a Solicitor, except for appearing in court. I am a member of The Notaries Society and hold full professional indemnity cover and Fidelity Insurance as a Notary Public.
"I also work part time as a Tribunal Judge in the Mental Health and Special Educational Needs jurisdictions of the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber of the First Tier Tribunal.
"Four years ago I moved with my family to Montgomery, Powys on the Welsh-English border, which is near to the towns of Newtown, Welshpool, Churchstoke and Bishops Castle, as well as being convenient for Shrewsbury and Telford.
"Most of my spare time I spend in activities with my wife and our four children, but when I do have some time to myself I enjoy playing the piano and organ and I thoroughly enjoy walking the Welsh hills - or any others I can manage to get to.
"I am a Lay Reader in the Church in Wales, and I am Chair of Governors at Montgomery Church in Wales School."
Hugh is assisted by his wife Ruth, who is a Chartered Legal Executive. Ruth has a Higher Diploma in Law and Practice, specialising in wills and probate, land law and conveyancing and trusts, which is a degree-level qualification, and is applying in 2015 for her independent practice rights as a Probate Practitioner and a Conveyancing Practitioner.
